Mr. Osama A. Marzouk is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). In addition to his research on the simulation and modeling of fluid-structure interaction of offshore structures, and control of ship motion; he has been a teaching assistant and instructor for about four years at Virginia Tech. He has strong interest in college education, especially in engineering, and the challenges facing higher education institutions in the 21st century. He received the recently launched Preparing Future Professoriate Graduate Certificate from Virginia Tech. He is enrolled in the Engineering Education Graduate Certificate program at the same institution.
